Amazing Product Monday: Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3

Add new comment

Today I'm starting a series that champions amazing products.

I'm going to start off with a primer-sealer from Zinsser called Bulls Eye 1-2-3. Zinsser is an American company and was founded in 1849. They specialise in manufacturing primers and protective paints.

Bulls Eye 1-2-3 is a water based interior and exterior primer-sealer that does a lot. It offers high adhesion to most surfaces including glass, ceramic, metal and other glossy surfaces. It can be applied to gloss paint with out the need for sanding but usually you need to rubdown anyway to remove nibs and imperfections from the paint film.

Bulls Eye 1-2-3 is also ideal for sealing porous surfaces such as wood, dry-wall, plaster and concrete.

In fact there is not much that can not be primed with Bulls Eye 1-2-3. It can even be used as a primer on non rusty ferrous metals. Though, I would prefer to use a dedicated metal primer.

Its a good primer to always have in the kit because if you need a primer for powdery, porous or glossy surfaces, Bulls Eye 1-2-3 will probably do it. It's also a good stain blocker for crayons, graffiti, greasy spots and tannin. Though for stain blocking you maybe better of using Bulls Eye 1-2-3's cousin which is called B-I-N. I'll be championing B-I-N next Monday.
