Do you have hairline cracks on plastered walls? Fixing them is easy and most people do it wrong.
Some things that don't work are: covering with many thick coats of paint, filling over them and those silly hairline crack solutions from B&Q.
The best way to deal with hairline cracks is to first open them up, that is to make the cracks bigger. This is easier than it sounds. What you do, is just run a knife, such as a Stanley knife, down it's length. Do this a few times until you have a gap which is about 2 or 3mm wide and deep.
When you have done this dust it out, than apply the filler. When the filler is dry rub it down. You may notice that it needs another fill. I personally like to apply some paint between fills as it's better to fill over a painted surface, than onto filler.
Begone hairline cracks!
